I am trying very hard not to get too distracted by other things at the moment. I have started another building for zombies (more of that when it is finished - hopefully later this week!) and I have been picking away at some pulp figures. On an earlier post I showed some Artizan cultists and said that I had a few more to complete. I finally got round to doing just that!
First up is a cultist with a flame thrower. A fun figure but maybe not the most useful...
I chose to do the flamethrower a more ceremonial gold than a militartistic green or grey.
This is one of the most useful figures as he is armed with a sub machine gun.
I could probably do with more of these. Maybe in the future...
I assume that this is the cult leader, reading some occult book to summon help from beyond the veil!
Nice figure although there was some nasty flash on the hand holding the book that, when trimmed, lost some of the detail of that hand. Due to its position though you cannot really see the damage.
Here is a group shot of the cult all together. It's a good start but I need more cultist and ones just armed with common weapons. To be continued........
My efforts for this coming week are going to be focused on a game I am running at the weekend. It is a cowboy game, although I use the description very loosely as I need 8 factions and I try and make them all as different as possible, bound together by an outrageous plot!!!! I have just painted Queen Victoria who is the leader of one of the factions......
I will show her next post! Have a good week :)
Great stuff CM. What a corking group of cultists you have there. Terrific stuff my friend. Looking forward to Queen Victoria too :-)
ReplyDeleteshe was fun to paint - who wouldn't want queen vic with a gatlin gun!! I will try and put her up on wednesday!
DeleteI'm loving your cultists, Chris. I was so glad to see a group shot of them all together. They make a good group of villains.
ReplyDeleteI will have to find more hooded cultists to complete the group. I don't mind so much if they don't quite match as the colour scheme with make them blend in. When I have a few more they will be quite useful!!
DeleteNice cultists Chris. I think a flamethrower could be very useful though, even if it is probably as dangerous to the user (and mates nearby) as to the intended victims :)
ReplyDeletethanks Tamsin:) I feel that there should be a few (potentially disastrous!!) special rules around this figure. I agree that he pose a threat to everyone around him.
DeleteThey all look great. Perhaps if you could order individual codes of the jailer and the cultist with no weapons and then add on some wgf survivor weapons.
ReplyDeleteIf I cannot find any others I may jest have to do that even though I cannot do even the easiest conversions well!! Hopefully I can find something already done!
DeleteLovely job dude! They look great altogether, a nasty bunch of cultists. The purple and white is a great colour scheme. Looking forward to seeing Queenie.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bob! The look quite nice and I am pleased with them but I need a few more before they can be a fully fledged bad guy option.
DeleteGreat work on the cultists
ReplyDeleteThank you :). They were fun to paint and not too much detail so not too difficult.
DeleteThe whole group looks great and will make for excellent bad guys. Have you thought of looking to other ranges to bulk out these (in order ot avoid duplicating poses ?)
ReplyDeleteThanks Zabadak :). I am going to go for the ' we provide the purple hat and you bring your own white robes' look so am happy to trawl around for other figures as long as they fit the basic theme. The least duplicates the better!
DeleteFrom your previous posts, I think I'm right in saying you got these from NorthStar. They've just started carrying Pulp Figures range. They haven't got their cultists yet, but I understand they're coming soon. You can see the range of PF's website at http://pulpfigures.com/products/category/8
ReplyDeleteHi Edwin:) yes those pulp figures cultists are just what I need. I have no pulp figures figures yet but intend to put that right in the not too distant future. Bob Murch has so many figures I would love to have !!!!
ReplyDeleteExcellent figures. Mind you, I can't help wondering about the ceremonial gold flamethrower?!
ReplyDeleteA reading from the book of armaments, chapter 4, verses 12 -15
ReplyDeleteAnd then he did strap the weapon on saying
"Oh Lord, bless this thy holy flamethrower of antioch, that thine enemies, being naught in thy sight, will be burned into a black ooze. In thy mercy"
